Environmental ImpactTelomer-based fluorosurfactants are an effective option to fluorosurfactants based on perfluorooctyl sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), which the industry is phasing out. Chemguard fluorosurfactants, which are based on telomer synthesis, are composed of predominately six carbon perfluoro chains with no known pathway of decomposing to PFOS or PFOA. Our fluorosurfactants do not contain PFOS, PFOA, or derivatives that decompose to them. Also, all Chemguard perfluoro intermediates are derived from the telomer process.
