Vieweger Presents at 2007 Reebok Foam Seminar

Chemguard Vice President of Sales and Marketing John Vieweger presented a paper at the third annual Reebok Foam Seminar in Bolton, England, this fall.
Vieweger’s “Ethanol/Ethanol Blended Fuels: What Does This Mean to the Fire Service” addressed the ever-changing fire extinguishment requirements of fuel-loading depots resulting from the growing use of ethanol-blended fuels and bio-diesel fuel. He pointed out that aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) may not be effective on ethanol and ethanol-blended fuels, which could require AR-AFFF and possibly different application devices and equipment. Vieweger reviewed the changes that may be needed to ensure that loading terminals are equipped with the fire-suppression foam and fire-fighting equipment appropriate for the fuels and fuel blends they must handle.
